First Skill and Eugene Asset Management to Invest 380 Billion KRW in Yeongdeok for Building a Soccer Training Center and Hotel
Gyeongbuk Province and Yeongdeok County, Business Agreement
On the 8th, Gyeongbuk Province signed a business agreement at the provincial office with Yeongdeok County, First Skill, and Eugene Asset Management for the 'Yeongdeok Soccer Training Center and Hotel Development Project.'
This agreement follows the international soccer theme park agreement signed on September 19 last year at Yeongdeok County Office. With a significant expansion of the project scale and the confirmed participation of Eugene Asset Management, this large-scale development project involves an investment of approximately 380 billion KRW in building soccer training centers, hotels, condominiums, and other soccer-related ancillary facilities.

Related ancillary facilities will include a sports rehabilitation center, eight international standard soccer fields and youth soccer fields, seminar and training facilities, a soccer education center, and a conference hall.
Since being designated as the nation’s first youth soccer special zone, Yeongdeok County has signed a business agreement with the Korea Football Association earlier this year to host the national middle school soccer tournaments in spring and autumn for the next five years, solidifying its position as the center of soccer in South Korea.
This project is expected to further accelerate Yeongdeok’s leap forward as a domestic soccer hub city.
Moreover, as a hometown of famous domestic soccer players, Yeongdeok is expected to play a significant role in revitalizing the local economy by expanding stay-type sports tourism through the influx of youth and adult soccer players, soccer officials, and parents, based on the country’s best soccer infrastructure facilities.
Former national team coach Shin Tae-yong (currently head coach of the Indonesia national team) and Son Jun-ho, a key player in South Korea’s round of 16 at the Qatar World Cup (currently with China’s Shandong Taishan), are among Yeongdeok natives.
Heo Seong-su, CEO of First Skill, and Park Min-ho, head of Eugene Asset Management, stated, “Yeongdeok, which promotes itself as a soccer-specialized city, is gaining attention as a year-round training site. With excellent soccer infrastructure, a relatively mild climate, and clean air, it is an optimal training location. We will strive to successfully establish global soccer training centers and hotels so that Yeongdeok can become a premium sports city both domestically and internationally.”
