The Return of Kim Nam-guk, Sues Yeo Kim Seong-won and Jang Ye-chan: "No Illegality in Coin Investment"
After being embroiled in a multi-billion coin controversy, leaving the Democratic Party of Korea, and going into hiding, Representative Kim Nam-guk returned and filed a lawsuit against Kim Seong-won, a member of the People Power Party, and Jang Ye-chan, the party’s Supreme Council member, who criticized his coin investments.
On the 8th, Representative Kim stated on his social media (SNS), "I have submitted a complaint against Kim Seong-won, member of the People Power Party, and Jang Ye-chan, Supreme Council member of the People Power Party, for defamation by spreading false information."
He said, "Raising suspicions against public officials and using them as a means for political attacks is a very natural occurrence. However, the scope and level must be reasonable and based on facts, and if the facts are unclear, at least minimal evidence should be provided. It is unacceptable to make malicious statements by asserting falsehoods as facts without any minimal evidence."
Kim Seong-won serves as the head of the People Power Party’s 'Coingate Investigation Team,' and Supreme Council member Jang Ye-chan has claimed that the mastermind behind Representative Kim is Lee Jae-myung, leader of the Democratic Party.
Representative Kim said, "Since becoming a member of the National Assembly, I have never once sued anyone. I believed that raising suspicions and criticism toward politicians should be done freely. However, since Kim Seong-won and Jang Ye-chan hold positions as politicians, they must take responsibility for their statements. Due to their repeated malicious and groundless claims, I was compelled to decide to file a lawsuit."
