Ulsan Ulju-gun and Saeul Headquarters, Specialized Training for Nuclear Facility System Equipment
Ulsan Ulju-gun and Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power Saewool Nuclear Power Headquarters conducted the nation's first specialized training on nuclear facility system equipment from May 30 to June 1.
This training was organized to help local government and firefighting officials within the national radiation emergency planning zone, as well as environmental monitoring center staff, understand the internal systems and equipment of nuclear power plants.
Ulju-gun requested Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power to establish the training course to cultivate specialized knowledge so that local government officials around the nuclear power plant can smoothly report and respond in case of nuclear facility accidents or malfunctions. In response, Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power set up the training course.

An official from Ulju-gun stated, “Until now, there have been no systematic training opportunities regarding nuclear facilities, making it difficult to understand the information provided by the power plant during related accidents or radiation disaster drills. We hope that regular training will be established in the future to assist local governments, firefighting, and environmental monitoring center personnel adjacent to the nuclear power plant.”
