Changwon National University Department of Clothing, Advances to Tokyo Design Festa
Exhibition and Event Featuring Self-Created Works
Students majoring in Clothing and Textiles at Changwon National University participated in the Tokyo Design Festa last month and showcased their works.
According to the university on the 2nd, the Tokyo Design Festa is an International Free Style Art Event held twice a year for creative and talented artists from around the world.
It is considered the largest cultural event in Asia where design majors, artists, planners, sellers, consumers, and artists exchange information and build human networks, fostering the most important creative thinking in design.
This year marks the 30th anniversary of the Festa, which attracts about 70,000 visitors, participants from over 60 countries, and more than 8,500 artists each time.

Fourteen students from the Clothing and Textiles department, under the guidance of Professor Kim Sejin, the department head, produced exhibition costumes and props for the Festa and planned the exhibition, while eleven students worked with Professor Ryu Eunjeong to conduct events at the Festa.
A department official said, “Students personally filmed the entire process from costume production to exhibition and market research, and plan to create a video from it,” adding, “The produced video will be released on YouTube.”

Professor Kim said, “Students were able to showcase their creatively made works and broaden their perspectives and creative thinking by experiencing various works from around the world,” and added, “We will create more global experience opportunities for students.”
