Seodaemun-gu Hosts Shinchon Startup Fair 'SSuF 2023'
Promotion of Products and Services by Over 50 Resident Companies from 13 University Campustowns in Seoul
'Campustown Championship' Held to Determine the Best Startup
Additional Events Include 4th Industrial Revolution Experiences (VR, Drone Soccer, Mini Robots) and Stage Performances
Seodaemun-gu (Mayor Lee Seongheon) will hold the Sinchon Startup Fair ‘SSuF 2023’ (Sinchon Start-up Fair 2023) on June 3rd from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. around Sinchon Yonsei-ro.
The event is conducted through public-private-academic collaboration, involving Seodaemun-gu campustown universities such as Yonsei University, Myongji College, Ewha Womans University, as well as Seoul city campustown universities (Hongik University, Sungkyunkwan University, Sogang University, Korea University, University of Seoul, Sookmyung Women’s University, Chung-Ang University, Kyung Hee University, Dongguk University, Hanyang University) and venture capital (Kakao Ventures).
On this day, outstanding startups (early-stage and seed companies) recommended by each university campustown will participate in the ‘Campustown Championship’ competition. Judging will be conducted by Kakao Ventures and the Seoul Business Agency. The winning company will receive a prize of 10 million KRW and be provided with various solutions and investment opportunities for entrepreneurship.
Additionally, over 50 resident companies from 13 university campustowns, aspiring to become future unicorn companies (large-scale startups), will operate exhibition and promotion booths to introduce their products and services to citizens. Jang Won-yeol, Senior at Kakao Ventures, will also conduct a special mentoring lecture for startups.
Furthermore, various programs that anyone can enjoy will be prepared, including ▲4th Industrial Revolution experiences (VR, drone soccer, mini robots) ▲stage performances ▲events to revitalize the Sinchon commercial district.
Mayor Lee Seongheon said, “We expect this fair to become a place for communication between excellent campustown startups and citizens, and we will continue to strive to promote youth startup culture and support the growth of startup companies.”

For the fair and the immediately following ‘3-on-3 Street Basketball Tournament’ (June 3rd, 3 p.m. to 9 p.m.), vehicle traffic on Yonsei-ro will be restricted from 4 a.m. to midnight on June 3rd.
