Air Premia Introduces 5th B787-9 Dreamliner Aircraft
Air Premia announced on the 31st that it introduced its 5th Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner on the 28th. The newly introduced 5th aircraft will be deployed for long-haul flights to destinations such as the Americas and Europe, where Air Premia has recently been focusing on route expansion.
Having introduced the 4th aircraft on the 1st of last month, Air Premia plans to strengthen its competitiveness as a mid-to-long-haul specialized airline by adding four more aircraft of the same model next year. The B787-9 boasts an operating range of 15,500 km. As a new airline, Air Premia is operating large aircraft known as the 'Dreamliner,' which is unusual for a startup. This aircraft is made of carbon composite materials, offering high durability and advanced features that improve comfort such as cabin pressure and humidity control.
Air Premia aims to secure at least 15 large aircraft by 2027 to accelerate the diversification of mid-to-long-haul routes to the Americas, Europe, and other regions.
Geum Chang-hyun, Head of Passenger Business at Air Premia, said, “We are pleased to have introduced the 4th and 5th B787-9 Dreamliner aircraft consecutively in the first half of this year, and to announce the addition of four more aircraft next year. We will continue to do our best to offer a variety of routes and a comfortable flying experience to mid-to-long-haul travelers.”
Meanwhile, Air Premia launched its regular Incheon-Bangkok route on the 27th and held an inaugural ceremony. Following a special Bangkok route operated throughout April, the airline plans to convert it into a regular route from May to meet travelers’ demand.
Air Premia’s Bangkok regular route will operate four times a week from the 27th to the 31st, then increase to five times a week starting June 1. The outbound flight departs from Incheon International Airport at 5:10 PM and arrives at Bangkok Suvarnabhumi International Airport at 9:15 PM local time. The return flight departs Suvarnabhumi International Airport at 10:45 PM local time and arrives at Incheon International Airport at 5:55 AM Korean time the next day.
