CU Flagship Store Sees 75% Sales Increase Within 50 Days of Opening
Alcohol 1094% Increase · Dessert 414% Increase
CU announced on the 30th that sales at its first flagship store, Seoul's 'K-Planet 1st Branch,' increased by 75% compared to the previous year just 50 days after its renewed opening.

According to CU, the category with the largest sales increase at K-Planet 1st Branch, transformed from the former Olympic Plaza store into a future-oriented convenience store, was alcoholic beverages. Sales rose about 11 times compared to the previous year. With the endemic phase underway, customers visiting various concerts and events held at Olympic Park caused sales of major alcoholic beverage products such as beer to surge by 214.2% and wine by 196.0%.
Sales of ready-to-eat meals also saw significant growth. Sandwiches recorded a triple-digit sales growth rate of 159.3%, hamburgers 114.9%, followed by triangular kimbap at 87.5%, rolled kimbap at 65.2%, and lunch boxes at 40.1%.
Sales of dessert products, including Yonsei Milk cream bread and Gode 1905 premium bread, rose by 414.2%, showing strong performance in key dessert items, while beverage sales also jumped significantly with bottled water up 50.3%, tea beverages up 44.8%, and carbonated drinks up 31.5%. Additionally, sales of CU’s instant freshly brewed coffee brand, GET Coffee, increased by 26.8% compared to the previous year.
