Sillim-dong Starlight Street Festival Concludes Successfully
May 26-27, Residents and Merchants Enjoy ‘Starlight Oasis’ Theme Around Sillimdong-gil
Gwanak-gu (Mayor Park Junhee) successfully concluded the ‘Sillimdong Starlight Street Festival - Starlight Oasis,’ held on the 26th and 27th around the Sillimdong Starlight Street (Sillimdong-gil), with great enthusiasm from residents and merchants.
The ‘Sillimdong Starlight Street Festival’ was planned in collaboration with the Alley Commercial Merchants Association and the Residents’ Autonomy Committee to promote the commercial district and revitalize the alley economy through various programs. It was introduced this year to support merchants facing difficulties due to the impact of COVID-19.
The street was illuminated by 360 meters of starlight bulbs brightening the night sky, and the ‘Starlight Pocha,’ a food booth operated and sold directly by merchants, attracted continuous foot traffic from residents. The ‘Starlight Vacation’ area, designed like a resort with lighting, palm trees, air beds, and grass mats, was bustling with people enjoying a cool break in the hot city.
At the ‘Starlight Playground,’ busking performances by Gwanak-gu youth art clubs elevated the festival atmosphere, and various attractions such as a flea market, street karaoke, chalk art experience, and receipt prize events received great responses from residents.
