The Israeli military announced that a Palestinian man was shot dead on the 26th (local time) in a Jewish settlement in the West Bank of the Jordan River.
According to an Israeli military statement on the day, the man was shot by an armed civilian after attempting to stab a resident with a knife in the Tene Omrim settlement, foreign media reported.
The Palestinian Ministry of Health confirmed the man's death but did not disclose further details.
The incident occurred during the celebration of Shavuot, one of the three major Jewish festivals commemorating the day when Jews believe Moses received the Ten Commandments and the law from God.
So far this year, 113 Palestinians, including armed militants, have died in the conflict between Israel and Palestine. It is reported that 20 Israelis have also died.
