A City Bus Running in Changwon Hits a Utility Pole with a 'Thud'... Power Outage in the Area
At around 2:28 PM on the 26th, a city bus traveling toward Yongwon Welfare Center on a road near Yongwon-ro, Jinhae-gu, Changwon-si, Gyeongnam, collided with a utility pole, causing a power outage in the area.
According to Jinhae Police Station and Yongwon District Police Substation, the accident injured one bus driver and seven passengers, who sustained head and other injuries and were transported to a hospital for treatment.
The utility pole and other structures hit by the bus were severely damaged, and from around 4 PM, Korea Electric Power Corporation has been conducting restoration work while keeping the accident site area without power.
The police estimate that the bus, which was traveling in the first lane, attempted to change lanes to stop at a bus stop, but upon belatedly noticing a passenger car ahead, made a sudden turn, causing the accident.
