Man in his 30s Arrested on Charges of Killing Female Cohabitant... Fled from Seoul to Paju
A man in his 30s who stabbed a woman he was living with multiple times with a weapon, then put her body in a vehicle and fled, was arrested by the police.
On the 26th, the Geumcheon Police Station in Seoul announced that they had urgently arrested a man identified as A (33) at around 3:30 PM on suspicion of murder.
A is suspected of stabbing the victim, a woman identified as B (47), multiple times with a weapon at an underground parking lot of a commercial building in Siheung-dong, Geumcheon-gu, Seoul, at approximately 7:17 AM that day.
According to the police, A and B were living together at a residence in Geumcheon-gu, which was registered as B’s address.
The police received a 112 emergency call at around 10:40 AM reporting "bloodstains in the underground parking lot" and responded, but both A and B’s whereabouts were unknown, prompting a search using CCTV footage and other means.
About eight hours after the incident, at around 3:30 PM, the police apprehended A near the residence of an acquaintance of his in Paju, Gyeonggi Province. B was found deceased in the back seat of a vehicle. The vehicle was confirmed to have been rented by B, and although Paju is where A’s residence is located, it was reported that he had not visited there for over five years.
According to the police, there had been disputes between the two. B had also reported A for dating violence.
