Jeongyuggak Rebuilds Data Analysis Environment with 'MS Azure Databricks'
Replacement of Data Environment for Green Village in Physical Stores and Operations
Promoting 'Data Democracy' by Ensuring Transparency and Security
Food tech startup Jeongyookgak announced on the 26th that it has replaced its existing data warehouse with 'Microsoft Azure Databricks' and rebuilt its cloud-based data analysis environment.
Jeongyookgak recently completed the construction of a data pipeline that gathers all online and offline source data from all affiliates into Azure Databricks, in collaboration with data and information security experts from Microsoft Korea, and has started company-wide utilization. The migration of the cloud database to Microsoft Azure has been jointly promoted with Microsoft Korea’s development personnel since November last year, with completion targeted for June.
Chorokmaeul, which has been operating some legacy systems alongside cloud adoption since 2018, also undertook a full replacement with the new data platform. It is extremely rare and challenging for a 25-year-old distribution company managing offline stores and physical inventory to overhaul its entire data environment at once. Thanks to Jeongyookgak’s in-house IT development and data capabilities and Microsoft’s full support, a stable settlement was achieved.
Jeongyookgak, a cloud-native company that has built a cloud-based management environment since its founding, centrally manages all data generated across various fields such as online commerce, smart factories, and logistics. Since team members who are not data analysis experts in product, marketing, factory, and CS departments also directly explore and utilize cloud data information in their work, the company decided to fully replace its cloud services at the end of last year for greater growth.
Jeongyookgak plans to actively implement 'data democracy' through this opportunity. Data democracy means that data is smoothly shared within the company with clear authority and responsibility assigned to members. The core is to ensure transparency and security in the creation of analysis data and to lower barriers to data access. Jeongyookgak’s data team has started operating an Azure Databricks training program to enhance all members’ data utilization capabilities and provide diverse insights.
