Songpa-gu Establishes Real-Time Disaster Situation Video Streaming System to Secure ‘Disaster Golden Time’
‘Real-Time Disaster Video Information Sharing System’ to Start Operation from August... Strengthening Initial Response Capability
Songpa CCTV Integrated Control Center Monitors 24/7, Real-Time Transmission and Streaming of On-Site Video and Incident Location Information
Seo Gang-seok, Mayor of Songpa-gu, “We Will Build a Systematic Disaster Response System to Create a Safe City Songpa”
Songpa-gu (Mayor Seo Gang-seok) announced that it will establish and complete the ‘Real-Time Disaster Situation Information Sharing System’ starting from August to secure the disaster golden time.
The ‘Real-Time Disaster Situation Information Sharing System’ is a system where the Songpa CCTV Integrated Control Center monitors disaster situations across Songpa-gu 24 hours a day, and immediately transmits and streams on-site CCTV footage and incident location information to the Songpa-gu Disaster Situation Room and disaster managers as soon as disasters such as fires occur.
The district prioritized the safety of residents and aimed for rapid on-site response in case of disaster by investing about 90 million KRW from May to start developing the ‘Real-Time Video Streaming System’ that instantly shares disaster situation videos. This improves on the previous limitation where related information could only be checked within the control center when a disaster occurred.
From August, when the system is completed, if a disaster occurs, CCTV footage monitored through the Songpa CCTV Integrated Control Center will be shared in real time with disaster and comprehensive situation rooms via a web-based smart city integrated platform.
At the same time, the system is linked to display the disaster occurrence location and real-time video on the mobile terminal app (APP) of disaster managers. Additionally, it supports immediate initial response by delivering situation updates through mobile push notifications to disaster managers such as department heads related to the disaster.
The district explained that this allows proactive understanding of on-site situations during disasters and securing the safety golden time through swift response.
Moreover, to protect residents safely from various disasters and accidents, the district is accelerating the establishment of a ‘Multi-Crowd Fusion and Analysis Platform’ and continuously expanding crime prevention CCTV to build a more thorough social safety net.
In March, dedicated officials and police officers at the Songpa-gu CCTV Integrated Control Center safely returned a school violence victim who had threatened suicide to their family, and in May, they achieved early arrest of a suspect using a lost card.
Currently, the district operates a total of 3,250 crime prevention CCTVs at 1,313 locations and plans to install 1,200 new units over the next four years.
