Chairman Lee Mankyu of Daegu City said, “It was a rewarding time to be able to help farms facing labor shortages due to youth population outflow and aging,” adding, “Once Gunwi-gun is incorporated, the agricultural population of Daegu City will increase by more than 7,000 people, and the farmland area will double. Based on today’s experience and the voices of farmers, we will strive to develop policies that can help Daegu’s agriculture, such as addressing rural labor shortages and opening new markets for agricultural products.”
