Western Symphony Orchestra, Singers Byeon Jinseop, Kim Suchan, Kim Heejin, and Saxophonist Kim Seonghun to Perform
3rd Performance of the ‘Visiting Orchestra’ Series, Free Admission Without Separate Application
Nowon-gu (District Mayor Oh Seungrok) announced that the Sangye Park Concert will be held at the Sangye Neighborhood Park soccer field at 5 PM on the 28th.
The district prepared the Sangye Park Concert as part of the ‘Visiting Orchestra’ project so that residents can enjoy high-quality classical performances in nearby parks without having to travel far. This is the third event following the ‘Wolgye Cherry Blossom Concert’ and the ‘Danghyeoncheon Waterside Concert’ this year.
Sangye Neighborhood Park, where the concert will take place, is a park of approximately 30,000㎡. Last year, through a park regeneration project, the 3,010㎡ soccer field was resurfaced from loam to artificial turf. The concert combined with the green grass is expected to provide residents with a small vacation in their daily lives.
Reflecting the popularity of the Visiting Orchestra performances, the concert time has been extended from 90 minutes to 130 minutes, and up to 1,500 seats will be secured for the audience.
The performance will be led by conductor Bang Seongho with the Western Symphony Orchestra. The orchestra, consisting of 38 members, will present a program combining familiar classical pieces and movie OSTs with popular genres such as folk, trot, and ballads.
The concert will open with folk singer Kim Heejin, loved by the public for her clear and pure voice, performing songs like ‘My Eternal Love’ and ‘I Love You.’
Following her, trot singer Kim Suchan, who gained recognition from appearing on the Hidden Singer Namjin episode and is currently active as an MC on KBS’s ‘Sallimnam’ and ‘Morning Yard,’ will passionately sing ‘It’s Me’ and ‘Together with You.’
Saxophonist Kim Seonghun will also perform, delivering a wonderful stage blending with the orchestra through familiar popular songs such as ‘Thank You’ and ‘Moon of Seoul.’
A stage by legendary Korean ballad singer Byeon Jinseop is also prepared. He will captivate the audience with popular songs like ‘Like Birds,’ ‘Being Alone,’ and ‘Wish.’
The Western Symphony Orchestra will intermittently present OSTs from Avengers and Les Mis?rables, concluding the grand finale with ‘Thus Spoke Zarathustra.’
The concert is free and open to everyone without a separate application. Admission starts at 3:30 PM on the day of the event, with seating on a first-come, first-served basis. The district plans to ensure safety by installing safety guide lines, deploying safety management personnel, and closely monitoring CCTV.
Additionally, the district will hold a Craft Beer Festival at Hwarangdae Railroad Park on June 2-3. The festival will feature a unique event with young vibes, connecting local markets, universities, and famous craft beer breweries nationwide.
At the festival, visitors can taste over 150 types of craft beer, including a special Nowon signature beer made exclusively for the event. Food trucks will operate in cooperation with local market merchant associations, and university club joint performances will be held. Famous artists such as Dynamic Duo will perform, along with talk music concerts that engage with the audience.
