Jeongeup-si Selected as National Best Practice for Proactive Administration by Ministry of the Interior and Safety

Jeongeup City in Jeonbuk announced on the 24th that its case of 'Simplifying the Land-Related Civil Petition Processing Procedure through the Joint Use of Integrated Power of Attorney' was selected as an excellent case nationwide in the first quarter evaluation of shadow and behavioral regulation improvements through proactive administration by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety.

This evaluation was conducted through the Ministry of the Interior and Safety's Local Regulation Innovation Division's first internal evaluation and second external expert evaluation, selecting outstanding cases in the simplification of administrative procedures based on efforts during the process, improvement effects, and the possibility of spreading to other local governments.

The selected excellent case improved the procedure so that when applying for land division delegation due to reasons such as ownership transfer, sale, or construction, which previously required submitting three separate powers of attorney at each stage to related institutions and departments, it can now be handled with one integrated power of attorney.

As a result of efforts to improve administrative procedures through consultations with related institutions such as the Korea Land and Geospatial Informatix Corporation, the Urban Division responsible for development permit, and the Civil Petition Cadastral Division responsible for land movement and adjustment, citizens can now apply for land movement (division) adjustment with a single visit and one integrated power of attorney.

Additionally, this brought significant effects in saving time and costs compared to the previous method.

This signifies that Jeongeup City was recognized as a model case pursuing citizen-centered proactive administration as part of efforts to provide better administrative services to citizens.

A city official emphasized, “We will continue to seek and implement various improvement measures to resolve regulatory difficulties and promote proactive administration,” adding, “The city will faithfully fulfill its role as a city contributing to regional economic development and the enhancement of citizens' happiness.”
