Ryu Jong-muk, Chairman of Heungkuk, and Kim Doo-hyun, Chairman of Jungil, Each Donate 5 Million Won in Hometown Love Contributions to Andong
The Yeonggahoe, a gathering of expatriates from Andong, held the founding seminar of the Yeongga Economic Research Institute on the 15th and pledged 100 million KRW in hometown love donations. As the first participants in the donation relay, Chairman Kim Doohyun of Jungil and Chairman Ryu Jongmuk of Heungkuk stepped forward.
Kim Doohyun, chairman of Jungil and a member of Yeonggahoe, and Ryu Jongmuk, chairman of Heungkuk and chairman of the Yeonggahoe elders' council, each donated 5 million KRW to Andong City as hometown love donations.
Kim Doohyun, chairman of Jungil, a company located in Ansan City that manufactures lead secondary smelting, refining, and alloying, is originally from Pungsan-eup, Andong City. In 2015, he was honored with the prestigious Andong Citizen Award in recognition of his contributions to elevating Andong's reputation as an expatriate.
Ryu Jongmuk, chairman of Heungkuk, who operates a construction machinery parts manufacturing company located in Asan City, is originally from Pungcheon-myeon, Andong City. Having served as the 5th president of Yeonggahoe, Ryu attended the hometown love donation pledge ceremony as a representative of Yeonggahoe at the founding seminar and promised his donation.
Chairman Kim Doohyun said, “As a member of Yeonggahoe, I participated with the thought that I should set an example by being the first to pledge 100 million KRW, and I hope many members will join in the donation.”
Chairman Ryu Jongmuk also said, “I only donated to help my hometown even a little, and I will continue to promote participation among the senior members of Yeonggahoe.”
