Hanwha Aero, Jeonnam Province, and Goheung County Collaborate to Develop Space Launch Vehicle Infrastructure
Hanwha Aerospace will engage in discussions with Jeollanam-do, designated as a specialized region for space launch vehicles, and Goheung-gun, home to the Naro Space Center, to establish launch vehicle infrastructure.

View original imageOn the 19th, Hanwha Aerospace announced that it signed a tripartite win-win cooperation memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Jeollanam-do and Goheung-gun at the Hanwha Building in Seoul to build a space launch vehicle industry cluster and establish the Goheung Space Launch Vehicle National Industrial Complex. About 30 people attended the signing ceremony, including Son Jae-il, CEO of Hanwha Aerospace, Kim Young-rok, Governor of Jeollanam-do, and Gong Young-min, Mayor of Goheung-gun.
According to the agreement, Jeollanam-do and Goheung will prepare incentives, administrative support, and plans to improve residential conditions, while Hanwha Aerospace plans to review the establishment of manufacturing facilities related to launch vehicles.
CEO Son Jae-il said, "In line with government policy directions, we will comprehensively cooperate with Jeollanam-do and Goheung-gun to establish the Space Launch Vehicle National Industrial Complex and contribute to enhancing the competitiveness of the domestic space industry."
Kim Young-rok, Governor of Jeollanam-do, said, "We will do our best to ensure that Jeollanam-do not only succeeds as a space launch vehicle cluster but also establishes itself as a forward base of one of the world’s top seven space powers."
