Goheung-gun Selects Final 3 Teams for Urban Regeneration Resident Contest

Residents Plan and Execute What They Want to Do Directly

Goheung-gun, Jeollanam-do (Governor Gong Young-min) and the Goheung-gun Urban Regeneration Support Center announced that they selected the final three teams for the 2023 Goheung-gun Urban Regeneration Resident Contest Project and signed a mutual agreement at the Goheung-gun Urban Regeneration Support Center on the 17th.

The Urban Regeneration Resident Contest Project is part of the Urban Regeneration New Deal Project. Under the slogan "Imagine what you want to do in our village," it is a resident-led program where anyone in the community can participate, directly planning and executing solutions to local issues.

This year’s contest was announced from April 14 to May 2, during which a total of four teams submitted project applications. After the first document interview and the second face-to-face evaluation, three final teams were selected.

The three final teams are ▲ Gigamakheujyo (Traditional wedding ceremony performance to revitalize the traditional market) ▲ Shinbaram Brewing (60+60 - Making Goheung craft beer together) ▲ Ddolgiinneun Geunyeodeul (Fun Fun Goheung Traditional Market!), showcasing residents’ diverse ideas to revitalize the Goheung traditional market and popularize Goheung specialty products, raising high expectations for the project.

Accordingly, the three teams will receive tailored accounting education, including project execution consulting and project fund management standards, along with signing the agreement, and plan to carry out the project until October this year.

Woo Seung-wan, director of the Goheung-gun Urban Regeneration Support Center, said, “We thank all organizations for their great interest and participation in this resident contest project. Since urban regeneration projects are aimed at revitalizing our region and improving residents’ quality of life, we will create an urban regeneration environment where residents living in the area can actively participate.”
