Gurye-gun, Completion of Organic Agriculture Complex Service Support Center
Eco-friendly Food, Attractions, Experiences, and Healing Education Venues
Gurye-gun, Jeollanam-do announced that it held the completion ceremony for the Organic Agriculture Industry Complex Service Support Complex on the 17th.
The ceremony was attended by Vice Governor Yoo Young-gwang, Vice Chairman Kim Su-cheol, CEO Kim Ki-ju of Agricultural Corporation Coop Nongsan Co., Ltd., Jeollanam-do Director of Eco-friendly Agriculture Department Yoo Deok-gyu, and about 150 visitors.
From 2019 to 2023, the county invested 18 billion KRW (9 billion KRW from the central government, 1.1 billion KRW from the provincial government, 2.5 billion KRW from the county, and 5.4 billion KRW self-funded) to establish the Organic Agriculture Industry Complex Service Support Complex to revitalize eco-friendly agriculture.
The main facilities include the Horticultural Agriculture Hall (glass greenhouse) with an area of 8,180㎡ and the Organic Agriculture Marketing Center and Natural Ecological Environment Facility with an area of 9,891㎡ located in Sinji District (107-7, Sinji-ri, Yongbang-myeon), and the Organic Processing Center with an area of 2,647㎡ in Jukjeong District (970, Jukjeong-ri, Yongbang-myeon).
The Horticultural Agriculture Hall is equipped with heating and cooling systems, ventilation systems, air circulation systems, irrigation systems, and precision integrated environmental control systems, and conducts soil cultivation to produce organic agricultural products containing beneficial mineral components in the soil. Currently, organic tomatoes and organic cherry tomatoes are being produced, and there are plans to cultivate bell peppers, cabbage, strawberries, and more in the future.
In connection with the Organic Agriculture Marketing Center and Natural Ecological Environment Facility, eco-friendly agriculture-related education will be provided to visitors and farmers, and the site will be used as a place for various experiences such as seedling planting, harvesting, processing, and healing.
The Organic Processing Center consists of washing and grinding rooms, concentration rooms, packaging rooms, refrigerated and frozen warehouses, and an education center, and has launched products such as tomato ketchup, balsamic dressing, Caesar dressing, honey mustard sauce, and mayonnaise.
In the future, various health products such as beverages and sauces will also be introduced by processing fruits and vegetables produced by eco-friendly farmers.
Vice Governor Yoo Young-gwang said, “The Organic Complex Service Support Complex will serve as a stepping stone for a new leap in eco-friendly agriculture, and it is expected to lead to increased farm income and strengthened agricultural competitiveness through the spread of eco-friendly agriculture and the dissemination of new technologies.”
