Holding Resident Briefing Sessions, Compensation for Incorporated Land, etc.

Gwangyang City in Jeollanam-do announced on the 17th that it is actively promoting the development of a rural village site within Buam Village, Joryeong-ri, Bonggang-myeon, to revitalize the rural area and provide a stable settlement space for return-to-farm and return-to-village residents.

The Buam District rural village project is a new village development initiative aimed at fostering vibrant rural development, creating a green residential complex, establishing a sustainable village, and revitalizing the local community.

The project site is located in Buam Village, Joryeong-ri, Bonggang-myeon, covering an area of 49,356㎡ (approximately 15,000 pyeong). The plan is to develop the land into 50 residential lots with a total project cost of 7.5 billion KRW.

On the 8th, the city held a residents' briefing session at the Buam Village Hall regarding the Buam District rural village development project, explaining the compensation plans for incorporated land and structures as well as the project implementation plan to local residents and stakeholders.

Going forward, the city plans to select an appraisal company, conduct surveys of incorporated land and structures, carry out appraisals, and then proceed with land compensation.

The city is coordinating with Jeollanam-do to designate the village maintenance zone and announce it officially. Construction for site development is scheduled to begin this year, aiming to complete the site development by December 2024. The developed lots will be supplied according to a sales plan established during the project period.

Buam Village in Joryeong-ri, Bonggang-myeon, is home to Seongbulsa Temple, designated as a traditional temple last December, and Seongbul Valley, one of the four major valleys of Baegunsan Mountain, offering a natural environment. It is also conveniently accessible within 20 minutes to urban areas and medical facilities, with Provincial Road 865 adjacent, connecting to Suncheon and Gurye areas, making it a region with favorable living conditions.

Park Seong-wan, Director of the Construction Department, said, “With the establishment of a new village in Buam Village, Bonggang, a pleasant residential space will be created in the rural area, leading to an increase in rural population through the influx of retirees and urban residents returning to farming and rural living, thereby revitalizing the rural area.”
