The number of Korean tourists visiting Japan from January to April this year exceeded 2 million, increasing 125 times compared to a year ago.
According to data released by the Japan National Tourism Organization (JNTO) on the 17th, the total number of foreign visitors to Japan from January to April this year was 6,739,500, which is 28 times higher than the same period last year.
During this period, the number of Koreans visiting Japan surged to 2,067,700, a 125-fold increase compared to one year ago.
Koreans accounted for 31% of all foreign visitors to Japan.

Following Korea, the number of tourists visiting Japan was highest from Taiwan (1,078,300), Hong Kong (569,000), and the United States (562,000), in that order.
