Incheon Songdo 'E-Land Complex' Passes Landscape Review After 3 Attempts... Completion in 2029
Construction of Hotel, Complex Shopping Mall, and Officetel
E-Land's 5 Affiliates Move into Headquarters
The E-Land complex development project being established in Songdo International City, Incheon, has passed the landscape review and is now on track.
The Incheon Free Economic Zone Authority recently held the 8th Landscape Committee meeting of 2023 and conditionally approved the E-Land complex development project proposal submitted by E-Land Retail, the authority announced on the 17th.
During the landscape review, considering that the project site is located at the intersection of Incheon Tower-daero and Convensia-daero, and that opposite it, Lotte and Shinsegae complex mall developments are planned in this shopping and business hub, intensive examination was conducted to create a symbolic landmark representing Songdo International City.
As a result of the review, the openness of the upper floors was secured, the design of the hotel building and officetel building was unified into one form, and the monotonous lower floor section was improved three-dimensionally by creating an alcove (Alcove: a recessed part of a wall in architecture).
E-Land Retail was twice requested to reconsider in February 2020 and March this year by the Landscape Committee for enhancing the symbolism and formality of the architectural design suitable for the landscape of Songdo International City, and this time, on the third attempt, it passed the landscape committee review.

The 5-star hotel and complex shopping mall will consist of a 'lifestyle mall' full of cultural content and an urban-style ceiling lounge.
The office space will accommodate 1,500 employees of five E-Land subsidiaries?E-Land Construction, E-Land Lease, E-Land Service, E-Land Asset Development, and E-Land Next?currently scattered across areas such as Seoul Gasan Digital Complex.
This project has been promoted 12 years after the land sale contract was signed in 2011. In February, Incheon City, the Incheon Free Economic Zone Authority, and E-Land signed the 'Songdo E-Land Complex Complex Development Project Promotion Agreement.'
