Gwangjin-gu (District Mayor Kim Kyungho) is operating the ‘Saturday History Tour,’ a program where families can learn history together.
The ‘Saturday History Tour’ is a program that allows participants to directly see and experience cultural assets and heritage at historically significant sites, accompanied by in-depth explanations from professional guides.
On enjoyable Saturdays, participants embark on explorations to locations representing historical themes, providing students with an engaging historical adventure.
The program is designed for elementary students and their parents, running a total of eight sessions until October, with 40 participants per session, allowing up to 320 people to join.
The participation fee is 8,000 KRW per person, and applications can be submitted through the online registration page on the Gwangjin-gu Office website. Participants are selected through a random computerized draw from the applicants, with 30% of each session’s spots prioritized for students from vulnerable groups.
The exploration sites are selected based on their historical representativeness and educational value according to the theme.
