Busan Office of Education Launches Mutual Respect Campaign Between Teachers and Students
The Busan Metropolitan Office of Education has rolled up its sleeves to boost teachers' pride and foster a social atmosphere dedicated to educational activities.
On the 15th, Busan Education Office announced that it will carry out the ‘Mutual Respect Movement between Teachers and Students’ to create a happy school culture in celebration of the 42nd Teachers' Day.
This movement was prepared to spread an atmosphere of mutual respect between teachers and students, enhance teachers' morale and pride, and restore trust in school education.
The movement includes various events such as ▲a campaign to foster a culture of mutual respect between teachers and students ▲dialogues between the Superintendent and teachers ▲sending commemorative letters and messages for Teachers' Day ▲operating the ‘Together with Teachers’ teacher-student companionship clubs ▲and running a ‘Let's Compliment’ corner.
The ‘Campaign to Foster a Culture of Mutual Respect between Teachers and Students’ will be conducted under the theme ‘Schools Rejuvenated! Thank You, Teachers.’ A promotional video featuring various scenes of teachers and students working together to overcome COVID-19 and create lively schools will be produced and publicized.
The ‘Dialogue between the Superintendent and Teachers’ was held on the 15th at 3:30 p.m. in the International Conference Room of the Education Office annex, inviting 15 teachers from various schools who are dedicated to academic and behavioral guidance. Superintendent Ha listened to the difficulties faced in schools and conveyed messages of respect and gratitude for the teachers' dedication during the event.
The ‘Sending of Commemorative Letters and Messages for Teachers' Day’ includes sending text messages and making phone calls expressing respect for teachers, sending thank-you and appreciation letters and emails, and dispatching a letter from Superintendent Ha Yoon-su. Additionally, an SNS video honoring teachers for Teachers' Day will be produced and uploaded on Busan Education SNS and the Education Office website.
The ‘Together with Teachers’ teacher-student companionship clubs, selected last April, involve 100 teams from elementary, middle, and high schools. Until November, they will engage in experience-centered club activities, career and college exploration activities, and sports activities involving the educational community, fostering joint activities between teachers and students.
The ‘Let's Compliment’ corner will be operated year-round on the websites of education support offices and schools at all levels, allowing the posting of teachers' good deeds and proud achievements.
Furthermore, in September, recipients of the ‘Teacher of the Year Award’ will be selected, and in December, recipients of the ‘Busan Education Award’ and the ‘Republic of Korea Teacher Award’ will be chosen and honored.
Ahead of Teachers' Day, the Busan Education Office is also strengthening education and publicity for faculty and parents to prevent any violations of the Improper Solicitation and Graft Act in schools.
Since April, ‘Visiting Integrity Education’ has been conducted for 100 elementary, middle, high, and special schools, providing guidance on essential matters to be observed in the field, such as cases of violations of the Improper Solicitation and Graft Act, including parents sending gift coupons to homeroom teachers via SNS.
