On the 15th, the 42nd Teacher's Day, Hong Jun-pyo, Mayor of Daegu, gave a special lecture titled "The Dreams of Youth" at 11 a.m. in the auditorium of his alma mater, Yeongnam High School, attended by about 1,200 Yeongnam High students and staff.
In his lecture, Mayor Hong emphasized to the students the importance of perseverance, recalling his school days when he was poor and hungry but always dreamed and continuously worked hard to realize those dreams. He also shared his vision as the Mayor of Daegu, striving to revive the once-declining city and restore its former glory as one of the three major cities on the Korean Peninsula.
