Gwangju Labor Office and Gwangju City Join Hands to Support Employment and Self-Reliance for Low-Income Groups
The Gwangju Regional Employment and Labor Office and Gwangju Metropolitan City have joined hands to support employment and self-reliance for low-income groups.
On the 5th, the Gwangju Employment Welfare Plus Center announced that it signed a 'Business Agreement to Strengthen Employment and Welfare Linkage' with Gwangju City.
Both organizations share the recognition that "jobs are the best welfare" and have agreed to support the foundation for self-reliance through employment for welfare recipients, including low-income groups. They will also provide integrated welfare and employment services by utilizing the National Employment Support System.
Citizens of Gwangju who receive support from three welfare services of Gwangju City (Emergency Welfare Support Project, Middle-aged Support Project ‘Bitgoeul 50+ Center’, Food Bank Support Project) can receive guidance on employment-related information.
When applying for the National Employment Support System, applicants can receive ▲employment support services such as employment counseling, vocational training, and work experience programs ▲livelihood support including job-seeking promotion allowance (up to 3 million KRW) and family allowance (up to 400,000 KRW per month).
Additionally, the two organizations will closely cooperate to provide customized job-seeking activities tailored to each participant’s characteristics by linking with Gwangju City’s own employment support programs.
Participants in the National Employment Support System who are facing difficulties in finding employment can receive support such as emergency welfare, psychological counseling, and health consultations from a consultative body involving related organizations including Gwangju City’s welfare and self-support officers, Women’s New Work Center, and Middle-aged Tomorrow Center, allowing them to focus on job-seeking activities.
