Yeosu City, Seonsodaegyo City Bus Operation

Yeosu City, Jeollanam-do (Mayor Jeong Gi-myeong) announced that starting from the 16th, a new bus route number 85 operating on Seonso Bridge will be launched.

The newly established route 85 operates in a circular manner passing through Hwajang-dong Garage → Juklim District → Booyoung Girls' High School → Jangseong Village → Seonso Bridge → Ungcheon Jiwel A → Ungcheon Porena A. It runs 9 times a day with intervals of 90 to 120 minutes.

According to the city, since the opening of Seonso Bridge between Ungcheon and Soho in June last year, travel time for private vehicles has decreased, but there has been a continuous demand for city bus services as public transportation was not operating.

As a result, citizens who use the bus from Ungcheon District to Soho, Juklim, and Museon for school commuting are expected to significantly reduce the excessive travel time caused by detouring through the ecological tunnel road.

A city official stated, “We have been actively negotiating with transportation companies to establish a bus route operating on Seonso Bridge to alleviate citizens' transportation inconveniences,” and added, “We will monitor the operation after the route opens and actively improve any areas that need enhancement.”
