Jeju Fire Department Builds 'Disaster Dispatch System' to Prepare for Surge in Emergency Reports
The Jeju Fire Safety Headquarters (Chief Kim Su-hwan) announced on the 15th that it has recently completed the establishment of the Jeju-type Flood and Wind Disaster Dispatch System and held a demonstration to ensure seamless situation management despite the surge in disaster reports.
The Jeju-type Flood and Wind Disaster Dispatch System is a customized response system suitable for Jeju’s circumstances, where natural disasters are frequent. It classifies emergency calls into urgent and non-urgent when 119 situation control becomes unmanageable due to a surge in reports, enabling real-time situation monitoring between fire stations.

This system allows real-time tracking of fire truck locations using a location information system and provides a comprehensive view of various information such as dispatch orders and disaster site locations, which is expected to greatly assist in appropriate fire force deployment and efficient emergency situation management.
In particular, performance management is possible through automatic statistical functions such as dispatch order, disaster information, location inquiry, and performance aggregation, making the flood and wind disaster dispatch system expected to play a significant role in emergency situations where even a single personnel is insufficient.
Through the establishment of this system, the dispatch environment for managing surges in reports in response to the rapidly changing climate crisis has been improved, and it is also expected to help the efficient operation of emergency response systems such as the fire station emergency rescue control team.
Kim Seung-yong, head of the 119 Comprehensive Situation Room, said, “Due to its geographical characteristics, Jeju Province is an area greatly affected by natural disasters. We expect that the establishment of the Jeju-type Flood and Wind Disaster Dispatch System will play a major role in transforming Jeju Fire Safety Headquarters into an organization that prioritizes the safety of residents.”
