J'sco Holdings Completes Recruitment of Philippine Mining Expert... "Strengthening Nickel Ore Business Capabilities"
JSCO Holdings announced on the 15th that it has completed the recruitment of four experts in various fields, including mining development permits and legal matters, in collaboration with the Philippine EVMD (EV Mining & Development).
JSCO Holdings plans to strengthen its capabilities in the permitting sector and accelerate its nickel ore project through the recruitment of local experts in the Philippines alongside EVMD. The experts newly recruited by EVMD include two specialists in mining development permits, one in legal affairs, and one in accounting, all of whom are former government officials with many years of experience and know-how in their respective fields.
With the second phase (4,492 ha) EP approval for the Philippine nickel mine expected in the first half of the year, JSCO Holdings has begun the process of selecting a local drilling company in the Philippines. The company is reviewing proposals from multiple drilling specialists and plans to finalize the selection by June.
At the same time, JSCO Holdings is accelerating efforts to secure an exclusive sales contract for the Philippine nickel project and obtain approval for designation as an economic free zone in the mining area. If designated as a PEZA (Philippine Economic Zone Authority) economic free zone, the foreign ownership limit for local Philippine companies can be increased to 100%, and tax credits on ore exports will be available. This will enable the long-term expansion of the nickel business value chain.

A company representative stated, “Since administrative and legal procedures such as permits are the most critical factors in advancing overseas mining development, we recruited experts from local public institutions together with EVMD. We are currently preparing all necessary matters without delay, aiming for the first shipment next year. In the short term, we will focus on nickel ore development and export, and in the long term, we plan to pursue various businesses based on nickel ore through collaboration with local Philippine and global companies.”
