Gangdong-gu Children and Youth Joint Festival This Time is a Flea Market!
May 20th, 2-5 PM, at Bangadari Eoulmadang in Sangil-dong, the Children and Youth Joint Festival will be held
This year, children and youth will participate as sellers operating a flea market
Gangdong-gu (Mayor Lee Soo-hee) will hold the Children and Youth Joint Festival "Today We Shine" on the 20th at Bangadari Eoulmadang in Sangil-dong.
This festival, planned and held directly by the children of Gangdong-gu, is now in its 4th year and has gained great popularity every year by providing children with various experiential events and cultural activities.
This year, under the theme of "Flea Market," children and youth will participate as sellers from 2 PM to 5 PM on the 20th, selling items they have made themselves or secondhand goods.
The proceeds will be donated to vulnerable families in the local community.
In addition, various experience booths and events such as basketball and pitching target will welcome the children.
Jung Hye-jung, Director of the Children and Youth Division, said, "This joint festival will be a meaningful time for children and youth to practice environmental protection by selling items they no longer use and to participate in donation, thereby practicing the value of sharing," and added, "We hope many children in Gangdong-gu will participate."
The "Children and Youth Future Headquarters" is a user-led space exclusively for children and youth aged 9 to 19, where they directly participate and plan programs themselves, and the "Children’s Autonomy Center Kkumiso" is a shared space for the 1st and 3rd generations, where children use senior centers after school during evening hours to support leisure and autonomous activities; currently, 12 branches are in operation.
