Gwangju Seobu Fire Station Conducts Emergency Fire Safety Inspection at Multi-use Facilities
Gwangju Seobu Fire Station announced on the 11th that it conducted an emergency fire safety inspection of multi-use facilities.
The purpose of the inspection was to ensure the successful hosting of the 43rd anniversary of the May 18 Democratic Uprising commemoration event, secure safety at the event venue, remove potential hazards in advance, realize a safe city, and strengthen safety management of facilities where large-scale social and economic damage is expected in the event of disasters such as fires.
The inspection targeted a total of 18 locations within Seo-gu, including railway facilities, urban railway facilities, movie theaters, and underground utility tunnels. The inspection focused on ▲checking the status of fire alarm receivers, pressure boosting pumps, and the blocking or closure of evacuation facility switches and valves ▲inspecting the maintenance status of portable emergency lights, guide lights, and emergency exits ▲investigating acts that obstruct evacuation by closing or damaging emergency exits (including entrances) ▲and verifying the installation and maintenance status of other fire safety facilities.

A fire official stated, "To minimize casualties, we plan to continue unannounced inspections of emergency exits and other safety measures in multi-use facilities," and added, "We hope facility managers will take special interest in fire safety management and actively cooperate to prevent any violations."
