Stick-Type Sun Care Products Hard to Find in Japan Now Available

CJ Olive Young's leading clean beauty brand Round A Round announced on the 11th that its popular product, 'Green Tea Cica Mild Sun Stick,' has been launched in all stores of Japan's leading lifestyle variety store 'Plaza.'

View original imagePlaza is considered one of Japan's top three variety stores alongside Loft and Tokyu Hands. Since it quickly introduces trendy products, being stocked in a variety store is regarded as a stepping stone for entry into major local drugstores and multi-shops.
The product introduced this time is a 'stick-type sun care' product that is rarely found in the Japanese market. Round A Round said it selected the Green Tea Cica Mild Sun Stick, which is vegan-certified, hypoallergenic, and has strong UV protection effects, as the first product to enter Plaza, tailored to the preferences of Japanese customers who prioritize functionality. The stick form is easy to use, and despite being a solid formulation, it contains a large amount of moisturizing essence, making it moist and smooth when applied. Round A Round applied export-exclusive packaging made in Japanese for this product and created a dedicated display stand with detailed product descriptions to introduce the product.
According to Euromonitor in 2021, the size of the Japanese beauty market is three times that of Korea, but the proportion of sun care purchases is only 2%, about one-third of Korea's level. An Olive Young official said, "We see a high potential for market share expansion, and from next year, we plan to expand the formulations to include sun creams and sun lotions," adding, "As a representative clean beauty brand of Olive Young, we will spread the Korean-style 'daily sun care' trend to the Japanese market and take the lead in revitalizing K-beauty exports."
