Gyeonggi-do Supports 91 Farms in 14 Cities and Counties with 20.7 Billion KRW for 'Smart Livestock Barn' Construction
Gyeonggi Province is expanding its livestock information and communication technology (ICT) convergence project this year.
On the 11th, the province announced that it will invest a total of 20.7 billion KRW, including 6.2 billion KRW in national funds, to promote the '2023 Livestock ICT Convergence Expansion Project' targeting 91 farms within the province.
This project focuses on reducing labor and production costs by distributing automated facilities and equipment such as monitoring and remote control using ICT to improve the income and quality of life of livestock farmers.
From September last year to April this year, the province conducted preliminary consulting, document screening, and expert review for 169 farms in the province wishing to participate in the project, ultimately selecting 91 farms in 14 cities and counties, including Goyang-si, as final support targets.
By livestock type, there are ▲20 Hanwoo farms ▲40 dairy farms ▲18 pig farms ▲11 poultry farms ▲1 beef cattle farm ▲1 meat duck farm.
The province supports the farms with a ratio of 30% national funds, 20% local funds, 30% loans, and 20% self-payment to reduce the burden on the farms.
Selected farms will receive livestock ICT convergence equipment up to a maximum limit of 1.5 billion KRW per farm, considering the number of animals raised by livestock type.
