Held Resident Evaluation Committee to Review Progress of Pledge Implementation

On the 9th, Gurye-gun, Jeollanam-do, announced that it held a Residents' Evaluation Committee for the mayor's campaign promises of the 8th term in the county office situation room to check the progress of the campaign promise projects and to expand communication with the residents.

This meeting was the first held since the implementation plan was finalized in September last year, and it was an opportunity to share with the residents the progress, issues, and countermeasures regarding the 55 campaign promises across five major areas.

Currently, the overall fulfillment status of Gurye-gun's campaign promises stands at 2 completed, 49 in progress, and 4 long-term plans. The committee focused on evaluating changes from the original implementation plan and the campaign promise management system during the meeting.

Major achievements so far include being selected as a lifelong learning city, the inclusion of the Seomjingang Tourism Belt project in the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism's southern region tourism development plan, promotion of the Population Vitality Local Extinction Response Fund project, and operation of village activists, all of which were positively evaluated by the committee for their swift implementation to improve residents' welfare.

Meanwhile, the four long-term projects that require prior projects to be completed need continuous management. For projects where the key decision-making authority lies with external organizations rather than Gurye-gun, it was emphasized that more proactive measures are necessary, including preparing sufficient persuasive arguments to respond effectively.

A Gurye-gun official stated, “The results of this committee meeting will be fully disclosed on the county website. Since campaign promise projects are important not only for achieving goals but also for the process and procedures, we will continue to communicate more with residents and implement the campaign promises.”
