An 83-Year-Old Oldest Passer Emerges, Gyeongnam GED Pass Rate at 81.39%
984 Successful Candidates in the 1st 2023 Examination
The Gyeongnam Office of Education announced the successful candidates of the 2023 first round of the elementary, middle, and high school graduation equivalency exams on the 9th.
According to the provincial Office of Education, 1,372 people applied for this equivalency exam, 1,209 took the test, and 984 passed, recording an average pass rate of 81.39%.
▲ For the elementary level, 74 took the exam, and 64 were listed as successful candidates, resulting in a pass rate of 86.49%. ▲ For the middle school level, 255 took the exam, and 207 passed, with a pass rate of 81.18%. ▲ For the high school level, 880 took the exam, and 713 passed, showing a pass rate of 81.02%.
The highest scorers were three elementary level candidates including 42-year-old Mr. Moon, and six high school level candidates including 18-year-old Mr. Ryu, all of whom scored an average of 100 points.
The oldest successful candidates were 67-year-old Mr. Kim for the elementary level, 77-year-old Mr. Son for the middle school level, and 83-year-old Mr. Joo for the high school level.
Among the successful candidates this time, six inmates from correctional facilities in the Gyeongnam region were also included.
