Korea National Oil Corporation Conducts Plogging Activity on Coastal Road of Samgilpo Port, Seosan City
Korea National Oil Corporation recently conducted a plogging activity along the coastal road near Samgilpo Port in Seosan-si, Chungnam.
Plogging is an environmental protection campaign that involves picking up trash while jogging to help maintain a healthy environment. The Oil Corporation holds this as a year-round event with participation from employees and local residents.
To commemorate Sea Day in May, about 60 participants including employees from the Oil Corporation’s Seosan and Pyeongtaek storage bases and partner companies, as well as women’s association members from Hwagog-ri, Daesan-eup, Seosan-si, Chungnam, joined the environmental cleanup activity.
Through the plogging activity, the Oil Corporation collected approximately 2,500 liters of various types of household waste that had been discarded on site.

View original imageConsidering the growing public interest in cultivating a clean living environment, the Oil Corporation selected the ‘KNOC Plogging Relay’ campaign as part of its ESG management initiatives.
Since holding the first plogging event at the Ulsan storage base in March, the Corporation plans to conduct environmental cleanup activities sequentially every month until October at its headquarters and nine storage bases.

Park Hyun-gyu, Head of the Storage Business Division at the Oil Corporation, who participated in the plogging activity, said, “I hope that today’s activity will encourage not only our employees but also many others to take an interest in environmental conservation,” adding, “The Corporation will continue to take the lead in cultivating a clean living environment through ongoing volunteer activities.”
