Gwangju Metropolitan Office of Education Distributes Leaflets to 'Revitalize Elementary School Classes'
The Gwangju Metropolitan Office of Education announced on the 8th that it has developed a leaflet for the 2023 academic year titled ‘Elementary Class Activation’ and will distribute it to all elementary and special schools within the jurisdiction.
The elementary class activation policy is being promoted with the main vision of ‘Diverse Abilities! Classes Embracing Diversity.’ It reflects the Office of Education’s commitment to transforming classes to nurture students’ diverse abilities and to develop Gwangju education.
The Office of Education created this leaflet in response to voices from schools expressing the need for information and detailed guidance on the newly established class policies.
The leaflet mainly contains information and support details on seven representative policies aimed at ’strengthening classroom instruction, revitalizing research culture, and solidifying class sharing‘ in school settings.
Specific class policies such as ‘Elementary Same-Grade Class Life,’ ‘Class Growth Certification System,’ and ‘Class Empathy Talk Talk’ are also included. Additionally, the number of participating teams and personnel for each class policy, as well as monthly support plans, are detailed.
The leaflet will be distributed to all elementary and special schools within this month to encourage teachers to actively utilize it in their school environments.
It aims to enhance understanding of the changed elementary class policies among schools, support teachers’ efforts to grow their teaching skills, and promote voluntary planning and practice.
Furthermore, the leaflet will be actively used during training sessions for principals and vice principals, as well as class-related events, to increase understanding of the elementary class activation policies.
