US Fighter Jet F-16 Crashes During Training in Pyeongtaek... No Civilian Damage Reported (Comprehensive)
At around 9:31 a.m. on the 6th, a U.S. military F-16 fighter jet crashed into farmland in Nowari, Paengseong-eup, Pyeongtaek-si, Gyeonggi-do.
The police and fire authorities responded to the crash report and are currently controlling the scene. At the time of the crash, there was one pilot on board the fighter jet, who ejected before the crash, resulting in no casualties.
Most of the fighter jet was burned, but it is reported that no other damage occurred due to the crash impact, such as fire spreading to other areas.
The crash site is an area where rice paddies and fields are connected, not a densely populated residential area. The crash site is about 500 meters away from the nearest house.
However, residents were startled. Resident A said, "The windows were shaking violently, and I thought it was thunder," adding, "The dogs were barking loudly, and it was chaos."
Another resident said, "We often hear fighter jet sounds, but this is the first time such an accident has happened."
So far, no civilian damage has been reported to the police or fire authorities.
The U.S. 7th Air Force issued an official statement saying, "An F-16 fighter jet belonging to the 8th Fighter Wing crashed into farmland near Osan Air Base during a routine training flight."

The pilot who ejected was transported to a nearby medical facility and is receiving treatment, and an investigation into the accident is underway, the 7th Air Force explained.
