'Reelection Bid' Biden Responds to Age Concerns with "Abundant Wisdom and Experience"
"Proving Honor and Competence"
Need to Raise Debt Limit Clarified
"Everything Is Different from Trump," Emphasized
U.S. President Joe Biden dismissed concerns that his advanced age could be an obstacle to his re-election bid, saying he has "accumulated a lot of wisdom."
In an interview with MSNBC on the 5th (local time), President Biden responded to the question, "Why do you think 82-year-old Biden is the right person for the world's most important position?" by saying this and adding, "I believe I have proven to be more experienced, honorable, and capable than anyone who has run before."
Born in November 1942, President Biden is currently 80 years old, but he will be 82 after the presidential election next November. He is the oldest U.S. president in history during his current term.
Regarding the standoff with the opposition party over raising the federal government's debt ceiling, President Biden said, "This debt is not the debt I accumulated. It is debt accumulated over 200 years," urging Congress to pass the bill.
He emphasized, "If we fail to raise the debt ceiling and do not pay our debts, 750,000 jobs will disappear, leading to a recession and a disaster."
President Biden blamed former President Donald Trump for the situation, criticizing, "He increased the debt and produced unemployed people." He added, "Now, 250,000 new jobs have been created, the female labor force participation rate is the highest in 75 years, and the Black unemployment rate is at its lowest."
