Daewoo E&C Completes 9th Ansim Donghaeng Housing in Ssangmundong
Daewoo E&C announced on the 3rd that the 9th unit of the public-private partnership project to improve the housing environment for vulnerable groups in residential safety, promoted together with Seoul City and Habitat Korea (hereinafter referred to as Anshim Donghaeng Housing), has been completed.
The household selected as the 9th Anshim Donghaeng Housing is located in Ssangmun-dong, Dobong-gu. It is occupied by an elderly mother who has difficulty moving due to a herniated disc and knee surgery, and her son with a severe intellectual disability. The family faces difficulties in daily life and mobility. The house was approved for use in 1993 and is an old house with a very damp floor and poor ventilation. It has low insulation efficiency and leaks water through window gaps, making indoor use difficult.
Accordingly, the household underwent renovations including ▲replacement of windows and lighting ▲installation of security bars, flood alarms, and fire detectors ▲replacement of ventilators, tiles, and toilets, along with additional waterproofing work ▲floor leveling and installation of safety handrails for the mobility-impaired resident. In addition, Daewoo E&C celebrated the completion of the 9th Anshim Donghaeng Housing and expressed gratitude to the villa residents for their understanding during the construction period by preparing a gift of rice cakes that the resident could personally present.
A Daewoo E&C official stated, “The housing environment improvement project is a new housing welfare business model implemented by Seoul City, Daewoo E&C, and Habitat Korea,” adding, “Through this, we hope to transform the poor housing conditions of vulnerable groups into safe and comfortable spaces and to continue such projects beyond 2023.”
