This meeting was held ahead of the busy farming season to listen to the difficulties faced by young farmers, share various agricultural and youth policies of Gangjin, and provide a time for communication regarding the future development direction of Gangjin agriculture and several key agenda items.
One young farmer said, “It was a valuable time to directly hear from the council members and the heads of relevant departments about the development directions and roadmap for Gangjin’s agricultural advancement, which I had been curious about,” adding, “I am grateful for the various county policies being promoted for Gangjin’s agriculture and youth, and I feel great pride as a farmer of Gangjin.”
Councilor Noh Duseop stated, “In the difficult circumstances of rural aging and rising labor costs, attracting young and talented individuals is more important than anything else to secure growth engines for future agriculture,” and added, “We will collect the opinions discussed at today’s meeting and work closely with the executive branch to reflect them in county policies, and the county council will make efforts in this regard.”
He continued, “While the roles of farming households inheriting family businesses, settled farmers, and returnees to farming and rural areas are important, I will serve as a bridge to facilitate communication, cooperation, and mutual coexistence among them.”
