Jangseong Hwangryonggang Hong Gildongmu Flower Road Festival Opens on the 19th of Next Month

The ‘Jangseong Hwangryonggang Hong(Gil-dong Hong) Flower Road Festival’ will be held for three days from the 19th to the 21st of next month. The venue is around Hwangryonggang and Hong Gil-dong Theme Park (431 Hong Gildong-ro, Hwangryong-myeon).

Hwangryonggang is famous for its bright seasonal flowers blooming along the 10-ri riverside path. First, near the Munhwa Bridge, which can be considered the starting point of the flower road, golden and orange marigolds, pure white marguerites, and zinnias are harmoniously planted.

The Hydrangea Garden is decorated with exotic-looking lupines, digitalis, and yellow alyssum, creating a fantastic atmosphere. According to Greek and Roman mythology, it is said that the ruby dice Zeus threw to Hera became digitalis.

The Seosam Rose Tunnel is landscaped with clusters of small flowers such as cute verbenas and bright scarlet salvias.

The I Love Yellow City Garden and You & I Garden offer the enjoyment of begonia, a well-known ornamental plant from tropical and subtropical regions.

The main stage of the festival, the Ecological Park, is planted with almost all kinds of spring flowers found along Hwangryonggang, including angelonia, salvia, zinnia, marigold, and zinnia, providing a rich visual experience. In addition, the Healing Herb Garden across the river and the Garden of the First Parking Lot are also decorated with various flowers.

Meanwhile, the nighttime scenery, which received much praise at last year’s Hwangryonggang Autumn Flower Festival, will welcome visitors with even more beautiful lighting facilities. A food market featuring Jangseong’s famous restaurants and a sales booth for premium agricultural and specialty products will also operate, along with various experience programs linked to Hong Gil-dong Theme Park.

The opening ceremony will be held at the main stage by the Hwangryonggang riverside. After the event, a spectacular fireworks display marking the start of the festival will captivate the audience. Jangseong County plans to have a visitor reception period until the 29th after the three-day festival ends.
