FKI Appoints Ryu Jin, Pungsan Chairman, as Korean Co-Chair of Korea-US Business Council Meeting
Chairman Ryu Jin, a U.S. Expert with Close Ties to American Political and Business Circles
The Federation of Korean Industries (FKI) announced on the 23rd that Ryu Jin, chairman of Poongsan Corporation, has been appointed as the 7th Korean co-chairman of the Korea-US Business Council. The FKI explained, "With the 70th anniversary of the Korea-US alliance and the first state visit by our president in 12 years approaching, we have appointed Chairman Ryu, a leading American expert in the business community, as the chairman to strengthen future economic cooperation."
Chairman Ryu is a Korea-US expert with close ties to both the US political and business communities. Since 2001, he has served as a vice chairman of the FKI, contributing to the bilateral relationship.

Chairman Ryu will accompany the official economic delegation on this US state visit. He is scheduled to attend official economic events and delegation ceremonies. To strengthen cooperation between the two countries at the private sector level, he will directly organize side events such as a luncheon meeting held with the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS), thereby supporting the economic delegation’s achievements during the visit.

The FKI operates the Korea-US Business Council, the highest-level private sector economic cooperation forum between the two countries, together with the US Chamber of Commerce. Following the 34th general meeting held in Seoul last October, the 35th meeting is scheduled to be held in Washington, US, this October.
