Opening Ceremony of Gohung County Citizens' Innovation Leader Training University Held

Cultivating Innovative Leaders to Lead Regional Future

Gohung-gun, Jeollanam-do (Governor Gong Young-min) announced that on April 20th, the '14th Gohung-gun Citizen Innovation Leader Training University' entrance ceremony was held at the Women's Support Center.

Now in its 14th year, the Innovation Leader Training University has established itself as a high-quality lifelong education program that cultivates leaders who can play a pivotal role and serve for the development of the local community.

This year's curriculum runs from April to November with a total of 14 sessions, including 9 in-person classes held twice a month and 5 field experience sessions. The program covers ▲cultivating leadership mindset ▲life skills such as asset management ▲understanding the 6th industry and exploring successful models in the field ▲hands-on experience with the future agriculture of our county.

The citizens participating in the Innovation Leader Training University come from diverse occupations and age groups, providing an opportunity to broaden perspectives and share experiences through mutual exchange.

At the entrance ceremony, Governor Gong Young-min stated, "The Innovation Leader Training University is a program to nurture leaders who will lead regional innovation, and I hope you become innovation leaders who change the world by transforming the region." He added, "Please take responsibility and become the key agents of regional development so that Gohung can progress."

Meanwhile, since its inception in 2009, the Gohung-gun Citizen Innovation Leader Training University has produced a total of 439 graduates up to the 13th class in 2022, playing an important role as a cradle for nurturing talented individuals who lead Gohung's development and innovation.
