US President Biden Expected to Announce Re-election Bid on the 25th
U.S. President Joe Biden is preparing to officially announce his candidacy for the upcoming presidential election next week, the Washington Post (WP) reported on the 20th (local time).
WP, citing three sources, reported that President Biden plans to formalize his 2024 presidential bid through a video message on the 25th, marking the fourth anniversary of his 2020 presidential campaign announcement. Previously, President Biden also declared his candidacy via a video posted on social media (SNS) during the 2020 election.
President Biden reportedly did not feel the need to rush his announcement after the Democratic Party performed better than expected in the recent midterm elections. WP stated that President Biden has been quietly preparing for the election by holding regular meetings with close aides and searching for staff to work on his campaign within the White House.
