[Special Stock] Abaco, First in the World to Commercialize Solid-State Batteries with Public-Private '20 Trillion' Investment... Increased Ownership of Core Technology
Abaco is showing strong performance. This is interpreted as being influenced by the news that the government will invest 20 trillion won in partnership with the private sector to achieve the world's first commercialization of all-solid-state batteries, known as the "dream battery."
As of 9:21 a.m. on the 21st, Abaco is trading at 18,750 won, up 2.79% from the previous day.
The day before, the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy announced the "National Strategy to Strengthen the Competitiveness of the Secondary Battery Industry" at the 16th Emergency Economic and Livelihood Meeting chaired by President Yoon Seok-yeol. According to the plan, the public and private sectors will invest 20 trillion won by 2030 to develop breakthrough secondary battery technologies.
Over the next five years, domestic production capacity of secondary battery cathode materials will be increased fourfold, and equipment exports will be expanded more than threefold, strengthening the competitiveness of materials, parts, and equipment (SoBuJang). Additionally, to enhance the competitiveness of the entire secondary battery product lineup, lithium, phosphate, and iron (LFP) batteries will be mass-produced for electric vehicles by 2025, with the goal of securing world-class technology by 2027.
President Yoon emphasized at the meeting that he will support securing breakthrough secondary battery technologies. Under the "20 trillion won investment by 2030" plan by the public and private sectors, the three domestic battery companies?LG Energy Solution, Samsung SDI, and SK On?plan to establish mother factories in Korea where cutting-edge product manufacturing and technology and process innovations will take place. All three companies will build prototype production plants for all-solid-state batteries domestically. After developing production technologies, mass production of all-solid-state batteries is expected to begin in 2027.
