Flames are rising inside the Korea Carbon Plant 2 in Miryang-si, Gyeongnam.

At around 4:57 a.m. on the 21st, a fire broke out at the second factory of Hankook Carbon in Yeongeum-ri, Sangnam-myeon, Miryang-si, Gyeongnam.
According to the Gyeongnam Fire Headquarters, the fire completely burned down one building and spread to a nearby mountain.
The fire authorities issued a Level 1 response at around 5:13 a.m., followed by a Level 2 response at 6:16 a.m., mobilizing personnel and equipment from 5 to 6 adjacent fire stations.
At the scene, 41 pieces of equipment including 7 helicopters, 8 pump trucks, and 10 water tanks were deployed, with 324 personnel including 180 firefighters, 20 volunteer firefighters, police officers, and soldiers working to extinguish the fire.

Firefighters were dispatched following a report from a factory official that the fire started in a machine inside the factory, and as of 8 a.m., no casualties have been reported.
