Ko Jin-young, Lydia Ko (New Zealand), Yoo Hae-ran, Lee Kyung-hoon (all golf), Shin Yu-bin (table tennis), Cha Jun-hwan (figure skating), Cha Yu-ram (billiards). These athletes have one thing in common: they are clients of Jung Green, CEO of Green Coaching Solutions. In an interview with Asia Economy on the 17th, CEO Jung said, "I initially coached corporate leadership, but since 2013, I started psychological coaching for golf players," adding with a smile, "I felt proud when athletes who were struggling showed improvement after meeting me."
Jung Green, CEO of Green Coaching Solution, emphasized that "a balance between work and rest is necessary to live a happy life."

He has been supporting world No. 1 Lydia Ko for four years. Lee Kyung-hoon, who has won twice on the PGA Tour, also connected with him three years ago. Players like Shin Ji-ae, Bae Sang-moon, and Kim Kyung-tae have also worked with CEO Jung. He said, "Many players say they want to stay with me until retirement," and added, "I maintain good relationships even with players who are not currently receiving coaching."
CEO Jung has a special affection for Ko Jin-young. He was surprised by the results of her personality assessment. He said, "I became confident that this player would succeed," and laughed, "I even recommended her management company to take Ko Jin-young." Her gaze and goals were clear, and she scored high on achievement orientation. Additionally, her self-logic was firmly established. He praised, "Ko Jin-young has a simple personality. She is flexible in accepting advice or suggestions," and "When I suggested trying something, she immediately put it into practice. There was a reason for her success."
Ko Jin-young went through her worst period last year. Once dominating the world women’s golf scene, she struggled after the wrist injury following the LPGA Tour major Evian Championship in July last year. She participated in five tournaments but missed the cut three times and withdrew once, showing poor performance. She also lost her firm position as world No. 1. CEO Jung recalled, "We talked a lot about waiting. I told her to prepare and wait," and "I recommended meditation and emphasized the process of emptying the mind." Last month, Ko Jin-young broke free from the long slump by winning her 14th career victory at the LPGA Tour HSBC Women’s World Championship after a year.

They are raised to focus only on the tournaments in front of them," and warned, "They should not be obsessed with that. They need to broaden their perspective." He continued, "The process is more important than the result. Problems arise when you get fixated on the outcome," and emphasized, "When you miss the chance in front of you, you become impatient and anxious, but you need a mindset that it’s okay even after seeing the results."
CEO Jung majored in business administration in college. After graduation, he worked in marketing-related businesses but felt an emptiness in his heart. Coaching was his dream in his twenties. He said, "At that time, I was amazed to see that CEOs like Eric Schmidt of Google and Steve Jobs of Apple received management coaching and achieved results." At the age of 28, he started psychological coaching. He entered graduate school to study a new field. CEO Jung said, "It was a masterstroke," and smiled brightly, "It was right to do what I wanted and what I was good at."
CEO Jung pursued a rigorous schedule balancing work and study. He never slept before 4 a.m. He was obsessed with work. He ran around without weekends or holidays. Sometimes he skipped meals and took naps in his car. In 2016, he faced a crisis. He was diagnosed with severe thyroid cancer and underwent surgery. His condition was serious. He was in a coma for three days. After a hernia in 2017, he suffered from autoimmune disease difficulties. CEO Jung reflected, "I lived a goal-oriented life beyond limits," and "When life’s balance collapsed, problems occurred." He managed his body through exercise, diet, and rest. He said, "Now I am much healthier than 10 years ago," and "I live an energetic life."
After overcoming a major life crisis, CEO Jung changed his mindset. He thinks, ‘Let’s live joyfully,’ and ‘Let’s be happy.’ For the past three years, he has been seeking rest. He balances work and vacation well. He said, "It is important not to be entangled in everything, not to be obsessed, and not to get angry," and offered helpful advice, "In daily life, you need to have mental leeway and look at things positively."
