Gyeongju City Supports Dormitory Fees for Incoming Workers... 110 People Receive 400,000 Won Monthly Each
Gyeongju City announced on the 9th that it will support dormitory rental fees for workers of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).
This project was established to improve the living conditions of workers at local small and medium-sized enterprises and mid-sized companies, promote employment through encouraging new hires, and alleviate labor shortages for stable living.
Gyeongju City plans to recruit and support 110 workers with a budget of 504 million KRW this year.
Joo Nak-young, Mayor of Gyeongju (second from the left in the front row), is visiting a manufacturing company in the Gyeongju area and touring the factory.

Last year, support was limited to 300,000 KRW per person, but this year the limit was raised by 100,000 KRW considering inflation.
The support targets are small and mid-sized enterprises registered as factories with headquarters or business sites in Gyeongju City. Support is available for up to 10 people per company for three years per person. However, the lease contract must be signed under the name of the corporation, business owner, or worker, and support is only available for workers who moved to Gyeongju from other cities or counties after January 1, 2019.
The application period started on the 31st of last month and will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis until the project budget is exhausted. Applications can be submitted through the Gyeongju City Hall website.
Yoo Yong-sook, head of the Corporate Support Division of Gyeongju City, said, “We expect this project to greatly help promote employment in local companies and alleviate chronic labor shortages. We hope for active interest and participation from companies.”
